Brahman Cows
In 2015 we began our journey into registered Brahman cattle with the goal of becoming a high quality seed stock producer. We focused not only on finding and purchasing the best Brahman cattle available, but we also put a heavy emphasis on putting together a herd with a diverse set of both red and grey genetics that would be attractive to a wide spectrum of customers. Our top priority was for our foundation females to have both sires and dams that had multiple generations of performance proven offspring.
So where did we begin? As far back as we could. We purchased direct daughters of breed legends like (+)JDH Sir Liberty Manso, JDH Mr. Elliott Manso,(+)JDH Sir Lawford Manso (+)JDH Atlas Manso and =JDH Westin Manso to incorporate not only genetics with 15-20 years of proven performance, but also pedigrees with endless breeding potential. To allow us to integrate the best of the next generation of Brahman genetics, we also purchased direct daughters of Brahman greats like +JDH Mr Elmo Manso, JDH Beckton de Manso, +JDH Mr Manso 840, +Mr. V8 380/6, +Mr. V8 191/7 and +Mr. V8 458/7.
If you went through the pedigrees of our herd you would see, not only do our cows come out of bulls that continue to be at the top of the breed, but they are also direct daughters of some of the best cows in the Brahman breed as well.
As the old saying goes, “There are two sides to every story” and those two sides combined are just the beginning of the great story our cows have to tell.Grey Brahman Cows
Miss V8 246/8 “Elsa”
Registration Number: 936924
Date of Birth: February 28, 2015
Sire: Mr. V8 380/6
Dam: Miss V8 997/5
Elsa is out of Miss V8 997/5 and the world famous Mr. V8 380/6. When we purchased Elsa in 2015 her dam was 15 years old, had produced 83 calves through ET and was nursing a calf at side. 997/5 was the dam of one of the highest selling females ever sold at the Houston Sale at the time and had produced many herd sires for breeders worldwide. Elsa is very easy keeping, deep sided, deep ribbed and very muscular. The calves she has produced so far tells us that these are traits she will pass on to her offspring.
Miss V8 407/8 “Tinnie”
Registration Number: 946124
Date of Birth: February 25, 2016
Sire: Mr. V8 191/7
Dam: Miss V8 830/6
Tinnie is named after Becki’s Grandmother and is one of the best dispositioned cows we own. We can not say enough about Tinnie’s impressive pedigree. She is sired by the 2014 Reserve International Grand Champion bull Mr. V8 191/7, who was hand fed and nicknamed “Big Boy” by Mollie Williams while he lived in their front pasture. Her dam, Miss V8 830/6 is a direct daughter of +Miss V8 188/5, a cow that was one of the all time V8 greats that produced 2 different International Champion Females for V8. One of those daughters being Miss V8 464/6, the 2007 International Grand Champion and 2008 World Brahman Congress Champion Female. 464/6 is also the dam of 191/7, which means that Tinnie carries the +Miss V8 188/5 genetics on the top & bottom. The lineage of 464/6, 188/5 and the great Claydesta 805U5, is probably one of the strongest maternal lines in V8 history. You’d be hard pressed to find 3 greater females in one pedigree. Tinnie had her first natural calf before her 3rd birthday and produced 28 embryos on her first flush to JDH Mr. Jackpot Manso. We are very excited about the results from this flush based on the first group of heifers we’ve had born this spring.
Miss V8 329/8 “Staci”
Registration Number: 943548
Date of Birth: October 5, 2015
Sire: Mr. V8 830/6
Dam: Miss V8 99/7
We don’t even know where to begin with Staci. Staci is a family favorite and what we like to call a “gentle giant”. If you like straight topped, deep flanked, large framed cows, this is the cow for you. Staci is sired by Mr. V8 830/6 and out of Miss V8 99/7, the first ever daughter of 380/6 born at V8 Ranch. 99/7 also produced Mr. V8 792/7 a massive bull with tremendous bone and abundant muscle. Miss V8 99/7’s dam was +Miss 484/4 who produced over 100 ET offspring and Staci is following in her granddam’s footsteps. Staci’s first aspiration resulted in an astonishing 71 embryos. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this power producer!
Miss V8 618/8 “Princess Penelope”
Registration Number: 960100
Date of Birth: February 21, 2017
Sire: Mr. V8 458/7
Dam: Miss V8 510/6
Penelope is a polled cow that is a result of a flush where Noble was line bred back to his grand dam Miss V8 510/6. Miss V8 510/6 has produced numerous stellar offspring for B. R. Cutrer; +Mr. V8 279/7, Mr. V8 794/7 and of course Miss V8 100/7, the first and only polled grey female in the U.S. to win the National Grand Championship and is the mother of Noble. We feel like Penelope is very phenotypically similar to Miss V8 510/6 and are excited about the fact that her first 2 calves have been polled! Penelope had her first natural calf at just 27 months of age and produced 18 embryos on her first aspiration.
Moreno Ms. Lady Kisses 870-“Rida”
Registration Number: 935167
Date of Birth: April 18, 2015
Sire: JDH MR Kabram Manso
Dam: JDH Lady Singleton Manso
One look at Rida and you know she has to have an excellent pedigree. Rida is sired by JDH Mr Kabram Manso and is out of the Register of Renown cow +JDH Lady Singleton Manso. Rida is the 1st natural calf born out of Lady Singleton and is hands down the “thickest” cow we own! This girl’s got a back a mile wide and the rump to match it. Rida’s big bone, great breed character & easy keeping build is something that she is proving to pass on to her offspring.
+JDH Lady Singleton Manso 598/4
Registration Number: 922372
Date of Birth: March 9, 2013
Sire: JDH MR Elmo Manso
Dam: JDH Lady Blossom Manso
Where do we even begin with “Lady S”? We will start by saying what an amazing job she has done for Moreno Ranches and the fact that she produced their 2018 National Reserve Calf Champion Grey Female (Moreno Ms. Lady Tere 892/1), the 2019 National Reserve Grand Champion Grey Female (also Lady Tere) and that she is following in her father’s footsteps and also produced the 2020 International Grand Champion Red Female for Moreno Ranches, Moreno Ms. Lady Reese’s 328/2. Producing champions in both the Red and Grey Division is what her sire +JDH Mr Elmo Manso and his offspring are so well known for.
When we bought Lady Singleton’s first heifer from Moreno Ranches back in 2015, we loved her so much that we jumped on the opportunity to purchase Lady Singleton and man are we glad we did! Lady S is proving herself to be an awesome producer once again! In the 2 years that we have owned her, she has produced 2 natural bull calves, 4 ET heifer calves and we will have several more ET calves on the ground next year. Lady Singleton has combined the best of both her parents genetics by being a producer of both red and grey champions like her sire JDH Elmo Manso and a powerhouse donor like her mother JDH Lady Blossom Manso was for the Locke Division at J.D. Hudgins.
We cannot even begin to express how excited we are to own such an amazing animal!
JR Lady L Valeska Rojo 223-“Anna”

Anna is sired by the 2009 International Reserve Grand Champion Red Bull +JDH Astro Manso and out of the 2013 International Grand Champion Red Female 5M Miss Roja Valentine 214/1. Anna is an easy fleshing, moderately built, structurally correct female that produces dark red offspring. We have been so impressed with the offspring that Anna has produced so far that we kept her first natural born calf, FDR Oso Rojo and are using him as a herd sire on both our red Brahmans and in our commercial herd. We have also kept the 2nd calf she had, a very impressive heifer out of +Mr. 3X He’s got the Look 40/2.
